[433] Coming out from my day's abiding (divāvihāra) on Mount Gijjhakūṭa,
I saw an elephant (nāga) on the bank of the river, come up from its plunge.
A man, taking up a goad, requests it: "Give me your foot";
the elephant stretched forth its foot, and the man mounted the elephant.
Having seen the untamed one tamed, gone under the control of human beings,
thereupon I concentrated my mind (citta) — for that indeed had I gone to the forest.
