6. "O Buddha, hero, homage be to you, supreme among all beings,
you who released me from suffering (dukkha), and many other people besides!
All suffering has been fully understood; craving (taṇhā), the cause, has been dried up;
the path (magga) with its eight factors² has been developed; cessation (nirodha) has been touched by me.
In the past I have been mother, son, father, brother, and grandmother;
not knowing [things] as they really are (yathābhuccaṃ), I wandered on without finding [what I sought].
For I have seen him, the Blessed One: this is the final body;
the wandering-on through births is utterly exhausted; there is now no renewed existence.
Behold the disciples — with energy (vīriya) aroused, resolute,
ever firm in exertion, in concord: this is homage to the Buddhas.
Truly for the good of many did Māyā give birth to Gotama:
he has thrust away the mass of suffering of those pierced by sickness and death."
