[1381] In that I never once delighted in giving (dāna) when I saw a guest come at the time for lodging, nor did they ever come to know my displeasure — those ascetics and brahmins of great learning — and though even unwilling, still I give: #1 Ma. (Burmese ed.): anedho. 2 Sī. (Sinhalese ed.), Ma.: Kaṇhadīpāyanajātakaṃ. 3 Ma.: ācariṃ. 4 Ma.: mamedaṃ. #Yu. (European ed.): mamāyidaṃ. by this truth may there be safety: the poison is destroyed — may Yaññadatta live!
