[1492] "Thus do the wise act, they who are compassionate: they turn one back from sorrow, as Ghata did his eldest brother." The Ghatapaṇḍita Jātaka, the sixteenth. ____________ The summary (uddāna) thereof: Daḷha, Kaṇha, Dhanañjaya, the excellent Saṅkha, the king, the seven days, with Sākha,¹ and Takkala, the Dhamma, Kukkuṭa, Kuṇḍali, the givers of food, Cakkavāka, the wise Bhūri, with the blessing, and Ghata.
