"Wicked indeed is the prince who, at the forest's edge, shot
the beloved husband of me, a wretched woman;
shot, he now lies upon the ground.
May your mother, O prince, receive in return this sorrow of my heart —
the sorrow of heart that is mine as I gaze upon the kimpurisa (kinnara).
May your wife, O prince, receive in return this sorrow of my heart —
the sorrow of heart that is mine as I gaze upon the kimpurisa.
May your mother, O prince, behold neither son nor husband —
you who slew the harmless kimpurisa out of desire for me.
May your wife, O prince, behold neither son nor husband —
