Surucijātaka

[1947] On the fourteenth, the fifteenth, and the eighth day of the fortnight, and during the special fortnight (pāṭihāriyapakkha), I keep the uposatha, fully endowed with its eight factors, ever restrained in the precepts (sīla). By this declaration of truth (saccavajja), may a son be born, O sage! If I speak falsely, may my head split into seven pieces.
