Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Jātaka (1) · Vol. 27 · Section 1998

[1998] "As a borrowed carriage, as borrowed wealth, just such is this, which comes through another's giving; and I do not desire that which comes through another's giving. The merits (puñña) done by myself — that is wealth that is mine alone. So, having gone among humans, I shall do abundant wholesome (kusala) deeds through giving (dāna), through even conduct (samacariyā), through restraint (saṃyama), and through taming (dama) — by doing which one is happy and does not repent afterwards."
