[2070] Whoever indeed, having said "I will give," sets his mind on not giving, fastens about his own neck a snare fallen upon the ground. Whoever indeed, having said "I will give," sets his mind on not giving, is more evil than the evil, and comes to Yama's place of punishment (yamasādhana). For whatever is asked, just that should one give; what is not asked, that one should not give. So I shall give the very thing that the brahmin asks of me.
