[2093] As for this great ocean of which [the teacher] has spoken — the rivers flow into it at all times, beyond reckoning; yet that sea, ever of mighty surge, the great ocean, does not overstep its shore. Even so are the prattlings of the fool: fortune (sirī) never at any time surpasses wisdom (paññā). Seeing this too, I say: the wise man is better, not the fool endowed with fame.
