[505] "Have you not heard it, brahmin, when this is being said:
'The devas cannot prevail over a man's exertion'?
Self-control (dama), concentration (samādhi), unbreakability of mind,[7]
unscattered steadiness,[1] and striving forth[2] at the proper time,
firm energy (vīriya), and a man's exertion —
by that very means came the victory of the Assakas."
