[840] "Having done evil deeds (pāpāni kammāni), O king, one of great learning (bahussuta) would not be practicing the Dhamma; though he possess even a thousand Vedas, not on account of that could he be released from suffering (dukkha), not having attained conduct (caraṇa)."
