[1011] "I and my wife, while in the world of men (manussaloka),
were both faithful (saddhā) lords of giving (dānapati);
my house then had become like an open well,
and ascetics and brahmins were fully satisfied.
Garlands, scents, and unguents,
lamps, beds, and lodging,
clothing, delicacies, food and drink —
these gifts we gave there with respect.
That was my observance (vata), and that my holy life (brahmacariya);
this is the result (vipāka) of its being well practiced:
power (iddhi), splendor, strength, energy, and this rebirth,
and this great mansion (mahāvimāna) of mine, O wise one."
