[1026] I, and my husband too—
faithful (saddhā) were we both, masters of giving (dānapati);
my house then was as an open well,
and ascetics and brahmins were satisfied.
Garlands and scents and unguents,
lamps, beds, and lodging,
clothing, savouries, food and drink—
with due respect we gave those gifts there.
That was my observance (vata), and that indeed my holy life (brahmacariya);
this is the result (vipāka) of that, so well practiced:
power (iddhi), splendor (juti), strength, energy (vīriya), and this rebirth (upapatti)—
and this, O wise one, my great mansion (mahāvimāna).
