[1019] The great serpent (mahoraga), delighted, elated,
having heard the well-spoken words of the wise one,
took by the hand that one of no inferior wisdom
and entered then into the presence of his wife:
"That whereby you, Vimalā, are pale,
whereby food does not please you,
and whereby my own complexion is not what it was —
this one here is the dispeller of that darkness.
He of whose heart you had need —
he has come, this maker of light.
Attend to his words;
hard to gain will be the sight (dassana) of him again."
