[1087] "Permit me, mother — the going forth (pabbajjā) delights me. Even as I made offerings in my own city, I brought harm upon my own people; at the word of the Sivis I depart from my own realm: that misery shall I endure in a forest teeming with beasts of prey, the haunt of rhinoceros and leopard. I make deeds of merit — I go to Mount Vaṅka."
