Like linen cloth (khoma) are the lotuses (padumā) there;
covered over with white sogandhika lilies and with kalambaka plants
is that lake named Mucalinda.
And there the lotuses in bloom appear without limit,
blossoming in the hot season and blossoming in the winter,
spreading as a carpet knee-deep.
Sweet-scented, they breathe forth their fragrance — a variegated coverlet of blossoms —
and bees, drawn by the scent of the flowers, make it resound on every side.
