[1233] And having ransomed the children, having had them bathed and fed,
and having adorned them with ornaments, they seated them upon their laps.
Their heads bathed, clad in clean garments, adorned with every ornament,
the king, their grandfather, taking them upon his lap, questioned them.
With their tinkling earrings and garlands, adorned with every adornment,
the king, taking them upon his lap, spoke these words:
"Jāli, I hope that both your mother and father are free from illness?
I hope they sustain themselves by gleaning? I hope roots and fruits are plentiful?
I hope that gadflies and mosquitoes and creeping creatures are but few?
In the forest teeming with beasts of prey, I hope no harm is found?"
