[127] "As you entreat me thus, how shall I not do as you say? I am no longer angry with you, fair lady; do not fear, Pabhāvatī. I make you a true promise — listen to me, O princess: never again shall I do anything displeasing to you. For it was out of love for you, O lady of lovely hips, that I endured much suffering (dukkha) — though I could have slain the numerous Madda clan and carried you off, Pabhāvatī."
