[179] Having heard that word of his, he brought it to pass in deed: going swiftly to the inner palace, he showed the geese (haṃsa) to the king — unbound, in their natural state, perched at either end of the carrying-pole. "These, great king, are Dhataraṭṭhas, overlords of the geese; for this one is the king of the geese, and this other is the general."
