[271] "Sent by Mahinda, the great Inda, O great seer, I have brought the ambrosia (sudhā) in haste, O great sage. You know me—Mātali, the charioteer of the devas: eat this supreme food; do not refuse it. And when it is eaten, it slays twelve evils: hunger, thirst, discontent, distress, weariness, anger and grudge, dispute and slander, cold, heat, and sloth—this is the supreme of flavors."
