A treasure at the rising of the sun,
and a treasure at its setting;
a treasure within, a treasure without,
a treasure neither within nor without;
a great treasure at the ascending,
and a treasure at the descending;
a treasure at the four great sāla trees,
[and a treasure] within a yojana all around;
a great treasure at the tips of the tusks,
and at the tips of the tail-hairs, in the water (kepuke)²;
a great treasure at the tops of the trees —
these are the sixteen great treasures —
the [bow] of a thousand men's strength (sahassathāma),
the couch, and the winning of Sīvalī's favor.
