Mahājanakajātaka

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Jātaka (2) · Vol. 28 · Section 452

[452] Desiring happiness, their virtue kept in secret, unbound from the ties of company — in whose park do they dwell today, the young and the old alike? The wise who have passed beyond the thicket of craving (vanatha) — homage to those great seers (mahesī) — who, in a world given to eagerness, dwell free of eagerness. They, having cut the net of Death (Maccu), the firm-strung web of that master of deceit, go their way, rending it asunder — who could attain the destination to which they go?
