[534] The young deva (devaputta) of great power, Mātali, charioteer of the devas, invited the king of Videha, the ruler of Mithilā: "Come, mount this chariot, O king, most excellent one, lord of the quarters! The devas long for the sight of you — the Tāvatiṃsa devas together with Inda; for those devas, calling you to mind, sit assembled in the Sudhammā (hall)."
