[559] Questioned by him, Mātali, the charioteer of the devas, answered; knowing the result (vipāka) of evil deeds, he declared it to one who knew it not: "Whosoever these are — inflicters of torment, harassers, ever bent upon the harming (vihiṃsā) of others — they of savage deeds, having engendered evil, betrayers of friends, the fools eat excrement."
