[565] Questioned by him, Mātali the deva charioteer explained;
knowing, he told the result of evil deeds to one who knew not:
"Women of good family, here in the world of the living,
impure in their deeds, practiced the ways of the wicked;
those wanton ones, forsaking their husbands,
went with another man for the sake of pleasure and sport.
They took their delight in the world of the living;
[now] the [mountain‑]masses, become all ablaze, roll over them."
