[569] Asked by him, Mātali the deva-charioteer answered; knowing the result (vipāka) of evil deeds (kamma), he declared it to him who knew not: "Those who in the world of the living hold thoroughly evil views, who out of delusion do deeds in trust, and who incite others to those views— they, of evil view, having engendered evil, are the people who experience feelings (vedanā) extreme, painful, piercing, harsh, and bitter."
