[662] "Vain is your thundering, O king; your secret counsel has been divulged, O khattiya (warrior-noble)! For the king is as hard for you to seize as a Sindh thoroughbred is for a wretched nag. Yesterday the king crossed the Gaṅgā, together with his ministers and his retinue; just as a crow chasing at full speed after the king of swans will only fall away, [so will you, should you pursue him]."
