[839] Having heard the words of the Vedeha, Alāta said this: "There is here in the deer park a naked ascetic (acela) esteemed as a sage — Guṇa of the Kassapa clan (Kassapagotta), renowned, a brilliant speaker, the head of a company (gaṇī). Let us attend upon him, sire; he will dispel our doubt." [Printed variant-reading footnotes on this page: 1. Burmese ed.: *paccatthā*. 2. Burmese ed.: *naccagīte suvādite*. 3.
