[848] Then there was there a slave named Vījaka, a wretch clad in rags; observing the Uposatha (uposatha), he came into the presence of Guṇa. Having heard the words of Kassapa and what Alāta had spoken, heaving hot sighs again and again, weeping, he shed tears.
