[854] Then, when twice seven nights had passed, the royal maiden named Rucā,
the dear daughter of the Videha king, said to her nurse-mother:
"Adorn me, mother dear, and let my companions adorn themselves;
tomorrow is the divine fifteenth day: I shall go into my father's presence."
They brought her garlands and costly sandalwood,
gems, conch, pearls, and precious stones, and garments dyed in many hues.
And many women, encircling Rucā of radiant beauty
as she sat upon a seat made of gold, shone in splendor about her.
