[966] He should not go overmuch unto women —
a contact that consumes one's vigor;
the man whose vitality is spent incurs
cough, asthma, distress, and feebleness.
He should not speak beyond measure,
nor should he be silent at all times;
when the proper moment has arrived,
he should utter speech that is measured and not rambling.
Free from anger, giving no offense,
truthful, gentle, not divisive in speech,
he should not utter frivolous talk —
such a one may dwell in the king's court (rājavasati).
