One would make reverential salutation with joined palms (pañjali) even to a water-pot,
and even circumambulate a cāta bird;
how much more, then, the supreme wise one,
the giver of all things desirable—
he who gives bed and clothing,
vehicle, lodging, and house,
and who, like Pajjunna,
showers down riches upon beings.
This is the dwelling in the king's service (rājavasatī):
conducting himself in accordance with it,
a man wins the favor of the king
and obtains honor among his masters.
This is called the Rājavasatī (Dwelling in the King's Service).
