[108] **"He has shaken off all views right here"** means: the sixty-two speculative views (diṭṭhigata) have been abandoned by him, cut off, stilled, calmed, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa). He has shaken off all speculative views right here — he has shaken them off, shaken them away, shaken them out, abandoned them, dispelled them, made an end of them, brought them to non-existence. Therefore: "He has shaken off all views right here." Hence the Blessed One said:
For one who is involved (upaya) enters into dispute about dhammas;
but of one uninvolved, by what and how could one speak?
For him there is nothing taken up (attaṃ) or laid down (nirattaṃ);
he has shaken off all views right here.
