[130] "Attached to perception, he goes high and low (uccāvacaṃ gacchati saññasatto)": he goes from teacher to teacher, he goes from one exposition of the Dhamma to another exposition of the Dhamma, he goes from group to group, he goes from view to view, he goes from mode of practice (paṭipadā) to mode of practice, he goes from path to path.
"Attached to perception": he is attached, fastened, clung, stuck, caught, and entangled in perception (saññā) of sensual pleasures, perception of ill will, perception of cruelty, and perception of views. Just as goods hung upon a wall-peg or an elephant-tusk hook are attached, fastened, clung, stuck, caught, and entangled, even so he is attached, fastened, clung, stuck, caught, and entangled in perception of sensual pleasures, perception of ill will, perception of cruelty, and perception of views. Therefore: "attached to perception, he goes high and low."
