[135] **"That very one, seeing, who lives with the covering drawn open"** (tameva dassiṃ vivaṭaṃ carantaṃ): that very one who sees the pure, who sees the purified, who sees the wholly purified, who sees the bright, who sees the wholly bright. Or alternatively: one whose seeing is pure, whose seeing is purified, whose seeing is wholly purified, whose seeing is bright, whose seeing is wholly bright.
**"Drawn open"** (vivaṭaṃ): the covering of craving (taṇhā), the covering of defilements (kilesa), the covering of ignorance (avijjā) — those coverings have been drawn open, demolished, struck down, uprooted, abandoned, cut off, stilled, tranquilized, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa).
**"Living"** (carantaṃ): living, moving about, comporting himself, proceeding, maintaining himself, sustaining himself, keeping himself going — thus, "that very one, seeing, who lives with the covering drawn open."
