[138] **They do not construe, they do not give precedence:** *Kappā*: there are two kinds of construing (kappa): construing through craving (taṇhā) (taṇhākappa) and construing through views (diṭṭhikappa) … This is construing through craving … This is construing through views. For them, construing through craving has been abandoned and construing through views has been relinquished; because construing through craving has been abandoned and construing through views has been relinquished, they do not construe either construing through craving or construing through views — they do not generate it, do not produce it, do not bring it forth, do not bring it into being; thus, "they do not construe." **They do not give precedence:** there are two kinds of giving precedence (purekkhāra): giving precedence through craving (taṇhāpurekkhāra) and giving precedence through views (diṭṭhipurekkhāra) … This is giving precedence through craving … This is giving precedence through views. For them, giving precedence through craving has been abandoned and giving precedence through views has been relinquished; because giving precedence through craving has been abandoned and giving precedence through views has been relinquished, they do not go about having placed craving or views in front: they have not craving as their banner, not craving as their standard, not craving as their dominant influence; they have not views as their banner, not views as their standard, not views as their dominant influence; they do not go about surrounded by craving or by views.
