Paramaṭṭhakasuttaniddesa

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Mahāniddesa · Vol. 29 · Section 157

[157] **"That on which one relies, one sees another as inferior"** — "That on which one relies": whatever teacher, exposition of the Dhamma (dhammakkhāna), group (gaṇa), view (diṭṭhi), mode of practice (paṭipadā), or path (magga) one relies upon, depends upon, cleaves to, has resorted to, holds to, and is intent upon. "One sees another as inferior": one sees, beholds, looks upon, contemplates, and examines another teacher, exposition of the Dhamma, group, view, mode of practice, or path as inferior, low, deficient, base, contemptible, and insignificant. Therefore: "That on which one relies, one sees another as inferior."
