[170] **He has no abodes whatsoever (nivesanā tassa na santi keci):** *Abodes* (nivesanā): there are two abodes — the abode of craving (taṇhā) and the abode of views (diṭṭhi) … this is the abode of craving … this is the abode of views. *His* (tassa): of the Arahant whose taints (āsava) are destroyed. *He has no abodes:* they do not exist, they are not found, they are not apprehended; they are abandoned, cut off, stilled, allayed, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa). Therefore it is said: "He has no abodes whatsoever."
