[193] **Whatever a person conceives thus: "This is mine"** — **Whatever**: what pertains to form (rūpa), what pertains to feeling (vedanā), what pertains to perception (saññā), what pertains to volitional formations (saṅkhārā), what pertains to consciousness (viññāṇa). **A person**: this is a reckoning, an appellation, a designation (paññatti), a worldly convention, a name, a naming, an assignment of a name, an expression, a phrase, a mode of speech. **Conceives thus: "This is mine"**: he conceives with the conceiving of craving (taṇhā); he conceives with the conceiving of view (diṭṭhi); he conceives with the conceiving of conceit (māna); he conceives with the conceiving of defilements (kilesa); he conceives with the conceiving of misconduct (duccarita); he conceives with the conceiving of endeavor (payoga); he conceives with the conceiving of result (vipāka). Hence: "whatever a person conceives thus: 'This is mine'."
