Tissametteyyasuttaniddesa

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Mahāniddesa · Vol. 29 · Section 248

[248] **That indeed is his great entanglement** means: that indeed is for him a great entanglement (gedha) — a great forest, a great thicket, a great wilderness, a great uneven ground, a great crooked way, a great mire, a great bog, a great impediment, a great bondage — namely, deliberate false speech (sampajānamusāvāda). Thus, "that indeed is his great entanglement."
