[266] **"Without longing for sensual pleasures (kāmesu anapekkhino)":** "Sensual pleasures (kāmā)" — by way of summary there are two kinds of sensual pleasures: sensual pleasures as objects (vatthukāma) and sensual pleasures as defilements (kilesakāma) … these are called sensual pleasures as objects … these are called sensual pleasures as defilements. Having fully understood sensual pleasures as objects, having abandoned, given up, dispelled, made an end of, and brought to non-existence sensual pleasures as defilements, one is without longing for sensual pleasures: one who has renounced sensual pleasures, vomited up sensual pleasures, released sensual pleasures, abandoned sensual pleasures, relinquished sensual pleasures; devoid of lust, having renounced lust, vomited up lust, released lust, abandoned lust, relinquished lust; hungerless, quenched, become cool, experiencing bliss, he dwells with a self become divine (brahmabhūtena attanā). Hence "without longing for sensual pleasures."
