[275] **They regard one another, opposed each to each, as fools (bālaṃ dahanti mithu aññamaññaṃ):** **Opposed (mithu)** means: two persons — two makers of quarrels, two makers of strife, two makers of contentious talk, two makers of disputes, two makers of legal issues (adhikaraṇa), two disputants, two who exchange words. They regard, see, behold, look upon, contemplate, and examine one another as a fool, as inferior, as low, as base, as vile, as mean, as insignificant. Hence, "they regard one another, opposed each to each, as fools."
