[297] **Having attained that goal, he became as his mind wished (pappuyya tamatthaṃ yathāmano ahu):** *Having attained* that goal of victory means having reached it, achieved it, found it, obtained it. *He became as his mind wished (yathāmano ahu)* means: he became as his mind (mano) wished, he became as his mind (citta) inclined, he became as his intention (saṅkappa) was, he became as his consciousness (viññāṇa) was. Thus: having attained that goal, he became as his mind wished. Therefore the Blessed One said:
Or else, having declared his doctrine
in the midst of the assembly, he is praised there;
he laughs and becomes elated because of that,
having attained that goal, being as his mind wished.
