[369] **Not led into abodes (anūpanīto sa nivesanesu)**: "Involvement" (upaya) — there are two involvements: involvement through craving (taṇhā) and involvement through views (diṭṭhi) … this is involvement through craving … this is involvement through views. For him involvement through craving has been abandoned, involvement through views has been relinquished; because involvement through craving has been abandoned and involvement through views has been relinquished, he, with regard to abodes, is not led in, not smeared, not drawn near, not held to, not bent upon; he has gone forth, is released, fully freed, detached, and dwells with a mind made boundless — thus, "not led into abodes." Therefore the Blessed One said:
Not by view, nor by what is sensed,
does the knowledge-master come to conceit; for he is not made of that;
he cannot be led by action, nor yet by what is heard;
he is not led into abodes.
