[394] **And is not led away among views** (diṭṭhīsu ca na niyyati): the sixty-two speculative views (diṭṭhigata) have been abandoned by him, cut off, stilled, calmed, rendered incapable of arising again, burnt up by the fire of knowledge (ñāṇa). He is not led by view, is not led away, is not carried away, is not swept along; nor does he return to that speculative view as the essence, nor come back to it. Thus, "and is not led away among views."
Therefore the Blessed One said:
Without attachment to the future,
he does not sorrow over the past;
a seer of seclusion amid contacts (phassa),
he is not led away among views.
