[415] **Not superior, not inferior:** one does not generate excessive conceit (atimāna), thinking "I am better," on account of birth (jāti), or on account of clan (gotta), … or on account of any ground (vatthu) whatsoever. One does not generate conceit (māna), thinking "I am inferior," on account of birth, or on account of clan, … or on account of any ground whatsoever. Hence, "not superior, not inferior."
