[423] **"One without longing for sensual pleasures" (kāmesu anapekkhinaṃ):** As to "sensual pleasures" (kāmā), by way of the summary (uddāna) there are two kinds of sensual pleasure: objective sensuality (vatthukāma) and subjective sensuality (kilesakāma) … These are called objective sensuality … These are called subjective sensuality.
Having fully understood objective sensuality, and having abandoned, given up, dispelled, made an end of, and brought to non-existence subjective sensuality, one is without longing for sensual pleasures: one who is rid of sensual desire, who has relinquished sensual desire, disgorged sensual desire, released sensual desire, abandoned sensual desire, given up sensual desire; who is rid of lust, who has relinquished lust, disgorged lust, released lust, abandoned lust, given up lust; who is hungerless, quenched, become cool, experiencing happiness — he dwells with a self become divine (brahmabhūtena attanā). Hence, "one without longing for sensual pleasures."
