[520] **"Abiding each in his own view"** (sakaṃ sakaṃ diṭṭhiparibbasānā): There are some ascetics and brahmins (samaṇabrāhmaṇā) who are adherents of views (diṭṭhigatikā). Having taken hold of, learned, grasped, adhered to, and clung to one or another of the sixty-two speculative views (diṭṭhigata), they dwell, dwell together, dwell in, and dwell round in their own respective views. Just as householders dwell in houses, or those with offenses (āpatti) dwell in offenses, or those with defilements (kilesa) dwell in defilements, even so there are some ascetics and brahmins who are adherents of views; having taken hold of, learned, grasped, adhered to, and clung to one or another of the sixty-two speculative views, they dwell, dwell together, dwell in, and dwell round in their own respective views. Hence "abiding each in his own view."
