[590] **"Speaking firmly there of their own way (sakāyane tattha daḷhaṃ vadānā)"**: a teaching (dhamma) is one's own way; a view (diṭṭhi) is one's own way; a mode of practice (paṭipadā) is one's own way; a path (magga) is one's own way. They speak firmly, speak steadfastly, speak strongly, speak definitively of their own way — thus, "speaking firmly there of their own way." Therefore the Blessed One said:
"They declare that purity is here alone;
they do not say there is purification in other teachings (dhammas).
Thus are the sectarians (titthiyā) diversely entrenched,
speaking firmly there of their own way."
