[589] **Thus too the sectarians are diversely entrenched:** speculative view (diṭṭhigata) is called a "ford" (tittha). Those who hold views (diṭṭhigatika) are called "sectarians" (titthiyā). By way of many views they are entrenched, established, attached, drawn in, cleaved to, and resolved upon the many speculative views. Thus too the sectarians are diversely entrenched.
